Benadryl: The Negative & Nasty Side Effects

Benadryl is a specific brand of diphenhydramine which is an antihistamine. It is commonly taken as treatment for hives aside from motion sickness, cough suppression and to induce sleep.
Benadryl, however, has known and nasty negative effects where some are considered less serious while some are rare and can be serious:
· dizziness / headache
· sleepiness
· stomach upset / nausea
· dry mouth / throat / nose
· urinating problems [difficulty or frequent]
· excitability in children
· low blood pressure for the elderly
· irregular / fluttery / rapid heartbeat
· hives
· nervousness / restlessness
· irritability
· vertigo
· disturbed coordination
· confusion
· ringing in the ears
· vomiting
· blurred vision
