Acne is caused by the inability of the body to rid itself of wastes through normal, healthy elimination methods (typically the liver and kidneys). This internal imbalance results in a “blockage” which the body responds to by forcing the wastes through the skin, and more specifically through the sebum of sebaceous glands that are located beneath the skin.

Some of the factors that propagate the imbalance that leads to acne include:

poor diet during the beginning of menses,

increased stress

nervous tension, and

natural reactions of the body that are glandular or that relate to circulation.

Acne Treatments

Sulfur. According to Edgar Cayce, a pioneer in natural cures, acne sufferers should thoroughly mix one tablespoon each of sulphur, Cream of tartar and Rochelle salts, and should ingest one teaspoonful of the mixture each morning prior to any meal. The mixture should be taken either dry or with water.

Foods to Avoid

A diet that is full of natural foods is always best for the body. Milk, eggs, cheeses, vegetables and fruits that are in-season are ideal (with the exception of raw apples, strawberries, and bananas). Meats such as lamb, fish, fowl and lean beef are also suggested. Sugars, chocolates, fried foods and starches should be avoided completely, along with drinks that are carbonated.

Skin Care

Thorough washing of the skin twice a day with witch hazel will naturally cleanse affected areas while ridding impurities that can aggravate the skin.

Vitamins

Vitamins such as beta carotene, Vitamin C, Zinc, Vitamin B6, lecithin, echinacea with goldenseal and brewers yeast can all be used in their recommended doses to promote healthier skin.

Eczema, also known as dermatitis, is an allergic skin irritation that results from the body’s inability to expel toxins through normal, healthy elimination methods (typically the liver and kidneys). The result is the body’s use of the skin to rid the body of the toxins resulting in the skin irritation that is referred to as eczema. Eczema patients often experience burning, itching and cracking of the skin.

Treatments

Due to the fact that eczema represents an internal imbalance in its patient, treatments using natural cures focus solely on the symptoms of each individual. In effect, eczema cures aim to boost the body’s immune system, relieving symptoms, and thus eliminating the eczema itself.

Foods to Avoid

As always, a healthy diet consisting of fruits and vegetables are recommended to improve the body’s health. In general, lowering the acidic levels of the body are recommended, and foods that are highly acidic should be avoided. Starches should also be removed completely from the diet.

Skin Care

Since eczema is the outward representation of an internal imbalance, it is not recommended that creams be used as they generally suppress (drive inward) the toxins the body is attempting to expel. In certain instance, natural, topical remedies will be used by those who specialize in treating eczema naturally.

· Salt – good for hives associated with digestive disorders. Dissolve 12 g of salt in water and drink it. Induce vomiting by tickling the throat to give relief and ease eruptions.

· Alum and Red Ochre – grind equal amounts of alum and red ochre and rub on weals.

· Rose-Water and Vinegar – combine 35 ml of rose-water with 25 ml vinegar and apply locally on affected areas for immediate relief

· Mint – boil 7 g of mint and 25 g brown sugar in approximately 175 ml water. Drink the mixture. For direct application, boil about 2 teaspoons of freshly crushed mint in water for 5 minutes. Strain and freeze into ice cubes which can be applied directly onto hives for relief.

· Turmeric – mix 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder with a cup of water and drink daily until hives subsides.

· Rauwolfia – drink 1 g powdered rauwolfia root mixed with a cup of water daily until inflammation recedes.

· Chamommile – to reduce inflammation, bathe in water with chamomile.

· Nettle Juice – to speed up the healing process, apply directly on hives

· Aloe Gel – for reducing inflammation, spread aloe gel on hives
